As Beyonce once said, “If you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it”.
If you are engaged and want to get straight into planning your dream day or have some of the important stuff like the Venues, Cakes, etc planned out and are looking for some inspiration for your big day then it’s always a good idea to come along to a Wedding Fayre.
1) Attend Wedding Fayre’s
Wedding Fayre’s are a great way to get ideas and inspiration for your big day.
If the Wedding Fayre is in the venue you’re having your big day in then their Events Team are normally available to talk to if you have any questions about your big day and it allows you to see the venue set up in a similar style it will be when you have your Wedding there.
There are often a variety of services such as Photographers, Entertainment Services, DJs, Hair Stylists, Cake Makers, Love Letters Services, Candy Carts and so much more on the day.
To be able to meet the people who are or might be providing the service to you on your big day is always a great opportunity to see/try what they have to offer and be able to ask any questions you may have about their services and what they can do for you; Some will even offer discounts and freebies on the day of the event too!
If you’re in Cumbria make sure you come along to The Crown And Mitre Hotel Wedding Fayre on Sunday 27th January 2019 which starts at 1 pm and ends at 3:30 pm.
2) Don’t forget about the Entertainment
It’s understandable that people prioritise the big stuff like the ceremony but don’t leave your entertainment until the last minute or your guests might be sat in science at the evening doo… (okay, a bit dramatic!)
It is best to book your DJ/Band/Entertainment in advance just in case they take another booking on that day or are not available to do your special day; Most people in the industry just require a booking fee or deposit to secure the date and the rest of the full amount to be paid X amount of days before your big day*. It’s better to know you’ve got your entertainment sorted for the evening doo than stress and run around worrying trying to find someone with availability nearer the time.
3) Entertainment – Can’t decide? Have Both!
Sometimes it’s a tough decision when it comes to choosing the entertainment for you and your guests.
Some people like DJ’s, some like solo singers/musicians, Bands and some like Magicians.
As long as you (or the wedding planner) work out the logistics of it all with all the companies/individuals involved there’s nothing wrong with having two things.
We’ve done evening doo’s that have started with a Band or Singer and ended with a Disco to allow for some variety.
4) Add Some Effects?
Why not have your first dance in the fog or Smoke?
We can provide our Smoke Machine or Fog Machine to help create a magical moment during your first dance or during the evening.
Maybe some Some Foam/Snow?
All the fun of the snow, without the freezing cold hands! This is excellent for Children’s parties and Christmas Themes.
Some Colourful Confetti?
We have some big Confetti Shooters that we can set off for you when you decide. People often choose to have these during their first dance or at the last dance. They’re also really cool for surprise parties!**
You can find out more about the extras we can provide for your big day by clicking here.
5) Where to get Inspiration / What we’ve seen
Looking for some inspiration for something cool to have on your big day?
As mentioned above, we highly recommend attending a Wedding Fayre or two in your local area or in the area of the Wedding Venue.
At some Weddings, we have had the pleasure of being part of have had Photographers, Photobooths, Sweet Carts, and even Love Letters, Karaoke, Fire Walking, Singers, Entertainers, Bands and more!
So if you’re looking to add something extra to your big day it’s definitely a good place to get some inspiration.
You may even see something you wouldn’t have thought of having at a Wedding.
